Symptoms
Task for upgrading any Connect Package or Connect Extension itself fails with the error in core.log:
Caused by: com.parallels.pa.service.aps.api.APSEndpointExecutionException: '500 Internal Server Error' received from 'POST https://aps.connect.cloudblue.com/hub/productInitTask': Error while communicating with hub
Checking core.log further, following error can be found in the same thread:

Outdated version of "APSv2 Abstract Types" system application is used.
It should be 21.3.0 or above.
Resolution
Check the "APSv2 Abstract Types" package version: Services > Applications > System Applications. If its version is below 21.30 - follow the instructions from this article to upgrade the package:
It is also highly recommended to upgrade Connect Extension to the latest available version.
