Important notes

The instructions below do not refer to cluster installations of Plesk SiteBuilder.

To upgrade Plesk SiteBuilder in a cluster, contact your Account Manager or Odin Support Team.

How to verify Plesk Sitebuilder is installed in a cluster

Plesk SiteBuilder for Windows is installed in a cluster if the registry key HKLM\Software\SWsoft SiteBuilder for Windows\CLUSTER_INSTALLATION_TYPE is set to 1 or 2.

Plesk SiteBuilder for Linux is installed in a cluster if the Web SiteBuilder front-end is located on two or more servers. This means that SiteBuilder RPM packages are installed on two or more servers.

The Administrator panel of Plesk SiteBuilder when installed in a cluster (Windows or Linux), is available via two or more URLs. For example:

http://sitebuilder-frontend1.com/Admin
http://sitebuilder-frontend2.com/Admin

Symptoms

Since February 29, 2012, Odin does not provide support for Plesk SiteBuilder 4.5.8 for Linux or Plesk SiteBuilder 4.5.4 for Windows, nor for any earlier versions of SiteBuilder. For details on this, please refer to the Plesk Lifecycle Policy.

If you have a SiteBuilder lease license, the upgrade of templates and the verification process must be completed on all SiteBuilder installations (including the latest versions) by April 15, 2013. If the process has not been completed by April 15, 2013, your lease license will expire and you will no longer be able to publish or modify websites using Plesk SiteBuilder. For details on this, refer to Updating Plesk SiteBuilder to the latest version.

Design templates are updated to the latest version 4.5.9 with the Design Templates Updater Tool only. See the details below.

Updating Design Templates

It is important that you run the Design Templates Updater Tool to upgrade design template. This utility will update the design templates on all sites and replace non-compliant stock images that were used in previous versions of Plesk SiteBuilder. Additionally, on published websites, non-compliant stock images will be replaced with blank images of the same size. These placeholder images will be replaced with images from the updated design templates after the sites are published.

Download the tool and run it according to the release notes (Windows, Linux). During execution the tool will do the following:

  • install the latest design templates (4.5.9 for Linux, 4.5.16 for Windows) on Plesk Sitebuilder server;
  • find invalid images in all published sites and replaces the images with rectangles. The rectangles will be replaced with valid images only after next site publication. The script does not publish site's content automatically. Please check release notes of the Design Templates Updater Utility (Windows, Linux) for more detail.
  • send server report to Odin update center to activate your license key.

Update log files are saved in the directories:

Windows

Log file dtupdater.log is saved in a subfolder of your current location. For example:

C:\Documents and Settings\parallels\Locales\Temp\1\RarSFX0\dtupdater.log

Linux

Logs are saved in directory /usr/local/sitebuilder/tmp/publication for RedHat-like operating systems (/opt/sitebuilder/tmp/publication for Debia/Ubuntu). For example:

~# ls -l /usr/local/sitebuilder/tmp/publication
total 100
-rw-r--r-- 1 apache apache 81254 Dec 26 08:06 install.log
-rw-r--r-- 1 apache apache 7448 Dec 26 08:06 site_publication.log
-rw-r--r-- 1 apache apache 103 Dec 26 08:06 sites_not_published
-rw-r--r-- 1 apache apache 81 Dec 26 08:06 sites_published
~#

From the logs you may troubleshoot templates upgrading process and see date when the utility was executed on the server.
